We chose (and continue to choose!) St. Nicks because it is a place that celebrates the uniqueness of our children and is helping them find their identity in Christ. The staff is hard-working and committed to Catholic education, and the community is welcoming and supportive.

Thank you St. Nicks!

Keith and Jodi Roskowski,

Parents of current (1st) and former students at Saint Nicholas Catholic School, 2021

Choosing St. Nicholas School for our children's education was an easy decision for both my husband and me.  We both attended Catholic school in our elementary years and believe that the time at our schools helped shape the people we are today.  As far as SNS goes, my kids are the third generation to attend school here.  The picture of both my mother and father hangs in the hallway between church and school as does my own eighth grade picture.  My husband and I believe that Catholic school not only provides a solid foundation in the Catholic faith, but it also puts service at the top of our children's education.  My husband has been a Eucharistic Minister and Sacristan for a few years now at St. Nicholas Church.  I have been a pianist and songleader for more than 40 years including my time at school.  Volunteering our time at various events and committees has been a way of life for our family.  Even after leaving SNS, my older children continue to provide services to their church and school.  Finally, right up there with faith and service, is the sense of family that comes from being part of the close-knit, St. Nicholas School community.

Chris and Tonja Schmidt,

Parents of current students (8th, 6th, and 5th) at Saint Nicholas Catholic School, 2021

“We chose to send our kids to St. Nicholas as we felt the school really fit our needs as new parents, sending our oldest child to school for the first time. Once we met with the principal, Ms. Perrino, toured the school, and met the teachers we knew SNS was for us. Mr. Vander Loop continues this tradition now of being welcoming and reassuring that our kids are in great hands at SNS! We have truly valued the small class sizes, the care and compassion that is provided to our kids, the daily content of Faith and sense of calm in a world of turmoil and distrust, and the personal relationships we’ve built with other school and parish families as a result of being active at SNS. Regarding care and compassion, our youngest child was / is not a fan of fire drills and the staff continues to remember this to this day. They take the time to give our child a heads up the day of a drill to calm their nerves. How awesome is that?!?! Thank you SNS for giving our kids a great start to their journey of lifelong Faith and Education.

Casey and Lena Cook,

Parents of current students (8th and 6th) at Saint Nicholas Catholic School, 2021

We have sent out children to St. Nicholas School because we feel they have more individualized attention with the smaller class sizes.  We also put a premium on having our children learn the lessons of Jesus and God.  Without God’s blessings, none of us would be here, and without Jesus providing the way, we would be lost sheep.

Being part of the St. Nick’s community is also a plus with so many other parents & families that are willing to sacrifice time, effort, finances, and energy while providing love, respect, and a deep passion for having their kids be positive role models in the world.  Watching the other kids in our children’s classes grow and flourish over the years is just as rewarding as watching ours progress.

Scott and Christina Coppus

Parents of current students (2nd and K) at Saint Nicholas Catholic School, 2021

We started at St. Nicholas with the intent of just doing 3k and 4k. We never thought we would still be there today and five years later. Needless to say we fell in love with the school and are now in it for the long haul. The morals, teachers, staff, students and parents are all amazing and we couldn't imagine a better place for our children. It's not just a school, it's truly a family.

Aaron Linskens

St. Nicholas Graduate, Class of 2004; University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Journalism and Mass Communication

The small class sizes at St. Nicholas School allow for a more personal and beneficial educational experience. With a balance of academic principles and moral values, the education I received at St. Nicholas effectively prepared me for high school and beyond.

Erik VanEperen

St. Nicholas Graduate, Class of 2005

Academic rigor from a scrupulous staff and family, that pretty much sums up St. Nick’s. I never really realized what St. Nick’s had taught me until I graduated from there, and even more, not until my college years. Sure, going into high school I was extremely comfortable with algebra, grammar, and really every subject, but looking back I realize there was more to my education than that. The St. Nick’s staff had instilled a strong academic background in me by means of a caring and supportive community. It was this sense of family that I now realize impacted me the most. When looking for a college, I wanted one with not only a strong academic reputation but also that same feeling of family. Whether coincidently or not, I found everything I was looking for at the University of Notre Dame, which is also a Catholic institution. St. Nick’s was a place where I knew I could always go and get the guidance and support I needed from brilliant and caring people. I could go on forever talking about how this school has impacted me, but I will end with the slogan from my hall here at Notre Dame. St. Nick’s: brothers, scholars, champions.”

Tammy Evers Weyenberg

St. Nicholas Graduate, Class of 1994

“My parents’ decision to send me to a Catholic grade school, St. Nicholas, is one I am most thankful for. First, I received a high quality education. The focus on mastery of Math and English proved to be beneficial for high school, undergraduate and graduate studies and also in my career today. The curriculum is challenging yet the exceptional student-to-teacher ratio and highly committed educators allowed each and every student to succeed. Second, the basis for my spiritual and religious life was established at St. Nicholas School. The core of Catholicism was taught through a variety of teaching methods in addition to weekly student-involved masses. Third, the friendships created were deep and lasting. My very best friends and most vivid memories are of those created and experienced at St. Nicholas School. Moreover, these relationships extended to the families of fellow students instilling a true sense of community. My Catholic grade school education abundantly provided the gifts of knowledge, relationships, faith, and self-awareness that I rely on yet today.”
